Argentina: After 8 years, tragedy strikes again in Once

Once is a town invaded every day by thousands of commuters of the poorest social strip of Buenos Aires. Thefts, criminal gangs, greasy smell of cheap food and paco addicts conforms the usual landscape. In December 30, 2004, a disco named “República Cromañón” was burnt after somebody shoots a flare, which fired a plastic layer installed in the ceiling. The aftermath was 194 dead and 1432 injuried, most with permanent psychological and physical after effects.

Victims of República Cromañón fire.

Last week, on February 23, 08:33 hs, taked place the third most letal train accident in Argentine history. 51 dead and more than 750 injuried after a train collide against the bumpers at  the end of the rail. The last corpse was recovered yesterday, after 58 hours of the accident, while family and closest still asking for him in hospitals, and the rage of the people breaks out.

One more time, corruption, negligence, and lack of esteem of human life, strikes against the poorest people in South America.
